Matthew 10:26b -- "...for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known."

| For some reason, Frannie loves the sink. She plays in the water when it's running, and lays in it when the water is turned off. She'll stand in the sink and call me when she wants a drink. |
|
| I've known Frannie her whole life. I was there when she was born, she was born #5 in a litter of 7 kittens. Each of the 7 kittens have their own personalities (5 live with someone else now, but I remember them, too). Rowdy" was just that - rowdy! Frannie is a squirrely girl when it's just her and I. She's playful and loving. She'll sit in my lap and roll over and purr like crazy.
But, as soon as someone else comes to the house, she's a different cat. As a matter of fact, she's a missing cat. It's hilarious, though, to watch her hide. She believes with all her heart that she's hidden.
You see, Frannie runs to my bedroom. She climbs up the mattress of my bed, but she crawls under the covers. We can see a lump under the blanket just quivering and shivering.
In her mind, she's hidden. The reality, though, is that we know where she is. It's obvious to everyone but her that she's right there.
You know? We try to hide sin in our lives the same way.
We think no one knows it's there. But, to everyone else it's obvious it's there.
Others can tell by the smell that we're used to, the words we don't realize we're saying, the looks we try to hide. It's there in our attitudes and actions. It shows up when we least expect it. Our kids clean the skeletons out of closets for us.
All the time, we're like Frannie. Under a blanket of delusion.
Jesus died for those sins. Each one is on the cross with Him. When He died, your sin died. When He rose again, you rose again. You don't have to live in a delusional world. You can come out from under the blanket. Shuck that sin. Get rid of that weight that is holding you back!
Hide and seek is over. Ollie, ollie, in come free!
John 8:36 - If the Son, therefore, shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

| Frannie hiding under the covers. She's under both the quilt and the thermal blanket. It's got to be hot under there, but she'll stay there until she KNOWS that there's no one in the house but us. |

Father, please give us the courage to admit we've sinned. Give us the strength to lean on You to break the sin habits that are holding us back. Use the flashlight of Your love to reveal our hidden corners that You want cleaned out for Your use. Be our revealer. God, I pray that Your Church would be a glorious Church. I pray that we would be real in our walk, real in our talk and that we would bring no shame on Your name. Thank You for Grace. Thank You that You love us so much that You give us the chance to try, try again. Thanks be to God, which gives ME the victory through my Lord, Jesus Christ. In His name, and His name alone I pray. Amen.
