The Virtuous Woman Series, Part 8

A Real Workout

One, two, one, two :::huff, puff:::

I don't think that King Lemuel's mother was thinking about the gym when she told her son about the type of woman to look for to be his bride. I think she had another kind of work-out in mind.

The Proverbs 31 woman has strong arms and strong legs because she is active. She works to provide food for her family. She works to make sure that they are clothed. She works to make sure that tomorrow is taken care of. She works to make sure that her husband can trust in her.

In other words, there isn't a lazy bone in her body. The whirlwind left behind her as she works carries the promise of a bright tomorrow, because everything is done when it should be. There is never anything put off for tomorrow.

Dishes don't sit on the counter overnight. The laundry basket is taken care of daily. The food is all eaten before the expiration date. The floors don't keep her shoes as she walks across them.

She works out by working. And because she takes care of taking care of today, there is room for tomorrow.

"Father, I know that You allowed everything in Your book to be put there to teach us about You and how You want us to live.  Father, I know that it is there to build us up and grow us to be strong in You.  Please help us to take care of today and trust You with tomorrow.  Lord, I thank You for Your grace. I thank You for your mercy. Amen
