The Virtuous Woman Series, Part 10

 Producing the Right Fruit

Proverbs 31:17a - She girds her loins with strength

I hate girdles, as a matter of fact, I don't know one woman who enjoys wearing a girdle. They're tight, constricting and don't move right when I move. The funny thing is, that's what a girdle is made for, to hold in what pokes out, to firm up what is flabby.

Websters dictionary defines gird:

  1. to encircle or fasten with or as if with a belt
  2. to clothe or invest especially with power or authority
The Proverbs 31 woman girds her loins with strength.

Her loins - the part of her body that reproduces. She produces strength with power and authority.

God is her strength. He circles her, and His encircling of her produces strength through her.

But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof. Romans 13:14

It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect. Psalm 18:32

Father God, thank You for being my tower. Thank you for being my strength. Mold me, Lord into Your likeness. Reproduce Your strength in me. Shine through me, Savior. Thank you for Your love, thank You for Your Grace. I love You, Lord. Amen
