The Virtuous Woman Series, Part 22
To the Glory of Praise

Proverbs 31:28b - her husband also, and he praiseth her

As I read this, I see something important.
Our woman's husband knows a good thing when he sees it. I believe he also knows how to keep a good thing a good thing.
|
Our virtuous woman works hard. Her time is valuable and she spends it well. Well enough that her children rise up and call her blessed. Well enough that her husband praises her.
It seems to me that her husband has learned a very good principle,

“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it; that He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word. That He might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.” (Ephesians 5:25-27)

His love and devotion for her creates in her a desire to please him. Because she puts him first, he puts her first. Jesus said that in order to be first in the kingdom, first we must make ourselves a servant. This beautiful couple of God lives it out. Their lives are fully lived to His glory and praise. Servants to one other, they are held in high esteem by the other.
And in so doing, their lives bring praise to God.

My Father, what a beautiful picture that You allowed to be painted. Lord, in this whole series I see Your Son. I see You drawing us to holiness. I hear You saying, "I love You, come." Lord, help me remember that my goal, my only goal, in life ought to be to hear You say, "Well done, thou good and faithful child." Make me Your servant Lord. Help me to live for You. I love You Lord.
